October school holidays approach, and Amohela ho Spitskop Country Retreat & Conservancy is the perfect venue for those energetic youngsters to run, cycle, explore, climb, swim in the farm reservoir, place to shout shout let it all out, in a safe and beautiful setting.

Monday Morning 17th July was a special day, we catered for a 60th birthday, the family group gathered together from all points in South Africa to celebrate the auspicious occasion. And what a beautiful birthday present from Amohela, yet another awesome and magical morning as surely the Ice Queen visited in the night.

After the heartbreak of the electrocution of one of our resident Jackal Buzzards, Allen worked with The Endangered Wildlife Trust and Eskom ( Electricity Supply Commission) who have a working group that investigates such happenings and wherever possible take remedial steps to prevent further fatalities/injuries.

Some years ago we decided that since Amohela ho Spitskop is not only a Country Retreat but also a Sanctuary and a Conservancy we should help our wild Honeybees with a feeding project, especially during the cold winter months.

Filled with the expectation of a new day these little birds chatter excitedly, urgently marshalling themselves into groups, each containing hundreds of birds.
