SkyWind Self Catering Cottages

SkyWind Cottages, where the wind and the sky meet in a 360 degree sweep across the beautiful Eastern Highlands landscape of the Free State Province. The self catering cottages are built from sandstone blocks hand hewn from the foothills outside the village of Teyateyaneng in the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho, and transported by lumbering trucks to deposit the 80 tons of stone at the site of the cottages. Local builders, who have lived with and worked with this magnificent stone from generation to generation, were called in to construct the barn style structures, with high beamed ceilings, lime washed sandstone interiors, galvanized sheeting for roofing, reclaimed lime washed pallets for outdoor walling. The simplistic barn style exteriors belying the indulgently comfortable interiors.
