Summer Holidays at Amohela ho Spitskop in one of the last QUIET PLACES to be found on a busy planet.
No noise, no traffic, no crowds, indeed this is a place where great family memories are made.

The Summer Holidays...What an absolutely wonderful place to spend time, those long hot summer days of December and January, in a classy - spacious - comfortable - secluded - remote - self catering cottage with a-view-to-forever in a vast and awesome valley...indeed "One of the Last Quiet Places"

Take a sunset stroll up the mountain, basket in hand, filled with a bottle of  summer - cooled - icy - special - wine or bubbly, some lovely snacks, fold up chairs, and watch the sun go down in a blaze of red/yellow/golden spheres of light, pink and blue over the Maluti Mountains.

Grab your binoculars and spend a thrilling day bird watching, we have a check list of some 250 species. Download our bird check list from our website. We also have a self drive birding route map, showing local dams and birding sites which can be visited.

 Barbecue on the covered deck, some special evenings with a slow cooked leg of lamb or a tender whole fillet of steak in the weber braai, for summer holidays are AWESOME .....add to that views to forever and no one in sight, the cottages are secluded and private, what happiness.

Bring those mountain bikes and cycle along our local scenically beautiful country roads, where you could meet a herder taking sheep home or a tractor trundling along, for this is rush hour traffic in the Eastern Highlands. We have maps of the local roads and you can ride anything  from 13 kilometers to 44 or more.

 And of course then there is that revamped reservoir with 360 degree views and cool pure borehole water. A wonderful place to spend time, its a very lovely swim for young and old.

 

 

 

 

 

THE EARTHSTONE FAMILY COTTAGES are comfortably furnished with well equipped kitchens with stove, microwave, family sized fridge, ample safe parking behind the cottage. The covered deck with weber braai is the ideal outdoor entertainment area, with long glorious evenings leading into nights with star filled skies. 

 

 A couple looking for a beautiful romantic cottage, a self catering cottage cottage gloriously, luxuriantly comfortable, intimate, beautifully decorated and furnished. The combustion wood burning fire, king size bed dressed in beautiful percale linen, the open plan spaciousness, beautiful pampering bath and enclosed sandstone shower and toilet, a fully equipped kitchen, a weber braai on the patio-with-a-view, this all comes together to define these awesome dwelling places for just two people in quietness, space and luxury.

Local country eateries and shopping, we are seriously lucky to have some of the best. A 15 to 20 minute drive  from Amohela, with indoor and outdoor seating and great safe playground areas for kids, you can find The Cabin and Constantia. Delicious breakfasts beautifully presented and served, light meals and scrumptious pizza made from locally produced stone ground flour. For the hungrier, trout from the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho, and, on Sundays, the buffet at Constantia is worth booking for.
