With walks, hikes, swimming, birding, small mammal viewing, cycling, scenic beauty, great day drives, quaint villages, galleries and eateries, proximity to the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho, crop festivals, and in season those yummy cherries and cherry farm visits, you can arrange your stay around exactly what you feel like doing. Or simply grab those boots and bins and wander up Josephs Steps, a stairwalk that meanders up to the first plateau in the iconic Spitskop Mountain, with the most awesome views and interesting plants, old walls from a bygone period of the history of the mountain, or curl up in one of the comfortable couches with a good book, simply………whatever arises in the moment.
With the privacy and seclusion offered at each cottage which is well spaced from any other cottage, there is that special something, that Spitskop experience, where you can also wander the 164 hectare property and barely meet anything more than a shy duiker, scrub hare, some dassies sunning on rocks, a beautiful secretary bird or two striding through the restored and re-wilded grasslands where wild flowers and native plants are filled with bees, birds, butterflies, and afford wonderful photographic opportunities
